Lost Rites locations and the checks to make before travelling

Dark Arisen has 12 Lost Rites: nine on the normal-world map and three in the Unmoored World. Use the Proving Ground Compass to reveal their markers, then check story progress and the individual trial condition separately.

A visible marker is a destination, not a guarantee that every chamber is currently accessible. Plan a trip in this order: identify your world state, check the trial's party rule, and confirm whether you have the Empowered Godsbane Blade for sealed progression.

Reveal the trial markers

The early route begins with Brant's conversation about uncovered ruins and Devilkin Hollow in Darkhorde Cave. After its encounter, collect the Proving Ground Compass from the reward area and use it from Items. The compass reveals the Lost Rites markers; highlighting a marker shows its trial information. [1]

Use that information before travelling. A map pin can save you searching for the correct cave, but it cannot make an overweight pawn meet a weight rule or turn a normal-world coastline into exposed seabed.

Locations and principal trial rules are summarized from the published map and location guide. They are broad approach points rather than a turn-by-turn route from any starting position. [2][3]

The three Unmoored locations

Molten Gauntlet lies in the exposed western seabed strait. Seafloor Sepulcher is on the seabed near the shrine. Final Proving Ground is also in the seabed region near the shrine and requires the other two Unmoored trials to be completed. These are the three missing trials if you count only nine in the normal world. [3]

Choose your next trip from your current state

  • No compass: finish the opening trial and collect its reward items before hunting map symbols.
  • No Empowered Godsbane Blade: distinguish accessible introductory rooms from a full clear. An unrestricted party rule does not remove story gates.
  • A party-rule rejection: change the named weight, vocation, skills or companions before repeating the journey.
  • Nine normal-world trials found: do not search normal coastlines indefinitely for the three Unmoored destinations.
  • One dungeon's combat or doors are the problem: use that dungeon's individual route; the location list alone cannot diagnose the encounter.

KeenGamer identifies the blade as a requirement beyond the opening trial and lists the normal-world first-clear Offering Flames separately from the Unmoored trials. Treat “no conditions” on a summary table as a party-rule label, not a promise of a complete early-game route. [3]

A limitation in the Embersand wording

Published lists present Embersand's magic-related wording as an entry rule. However, one player in the Interminable discussion reports entering Embersand with enchanted equipment and grimoires, then interpreting the wording as a navigation hint. That is one account and could reflect a bug or incomplete understanding. Read your current on-screen instruction rather than assuming a universal hard rejection. [4]

Evidence checked October 16, 2026: this planning guide combines opened location guides and a clearly labeled player contradiction. We have not personally tested the routes. It separates map access, party conditions and completion so that the list can support an actual travel decision.
