The delivery-menu detail comes from All Things How; NightlyGamingBinge independently describes the wait-and-return sequence. These checks identify the normal route. They do not establish a universal fix for a journal that fails to update. [1][3]
Where to start looking for Snowdeer Bone
VGC directs players north of the settlement, along the river's southern bank. Hunt Snowdeer and inspect their drops. All Things How also places the search near the river and ruined arch; a kill can give meat instead of the bone, so an unsuccessful first drop does not prove you have the wrong quest. [1][2]
The Big Lead describes Snowdeer farther north and northwest and warns against confusing the ordinary deer near the village with the required animal. The walkthroughs differ on how far to travel. Start with the river route, check the creature and dropped item names, then widen the search if necessary. We have not verified a guaranteed spawn or drop rate. [4]
Deliver, wait, return
- Talk to Ilsa in the Norgandian Settlement with the bone in your inventory.
- In the delivery interface, select the Snowdeer Bone under Valuables and confirm the hand-in. Check that the journal moves on. [1]
- If the new objective asks you to wait, pass time before speaking to Ilsa again. NightlyGamingBinge used an inn rest; the sources do not establish an exact minimum number of hours. [3]
NightlyGamingBinge reports Beast Steaks and the Hound-Scent Pouch among the rewards. The pouch is associated with calling Freki in Norgan. Check the actual reward screen before leaving the settlement. [3]
If Ilsa does not offer the quest
This follows her earlier hound-feeding request. Published guides differ on the precise story prerequisite, so do not use a missing dialogue option as proof of a bug.
