Ring of Reversal: the Benevolence combo and health-drain checks

Players report that Reversal drains health during combat but turns enemy hits into healing. Benevolence can help at critical health; it does not establish guaranteed immortality. If your Pawn keeps dying, inspect both rings and other draining effects before copying the combo.

Identify the ring before copying a build

The three names refer to different equipment roles in the reviewed accounts. Inspect your item description rather than treating Reversal and Inversion as alternative spellings.

RingReported roleDecision
ReversalCombat health drain; enemy hits restore health. [1] [2]Check whether recovery can keep up between hits.
BenevolenceRecovery at critical health, used alongside Reversal. [1]Inspect the critical-health behavior on the character wearing it.
InversionA separate health/stamina setup, discussed with Gigantus Vim. [4]Do not expect it to reproduce Reversal's hit-to-heal behavior.

What the Benevolence combination is reported to do

u/Noseydewdrops describes a high-health Warrior Pawn wearing Reversal and Benevolence: health falls into the critical range, then the second ring supplies recovery while incoming attacks heal. The author reports few knockdowns across their run, but explicitly retains fall damage and some instant-kill exceptions. They did not test a healing-Mage party. This is one setup report, not a measured survival rate. [1]

An independent October 15 discussion includes successful Warrior reports and a player who says their health disappeared before they could take a hit. Commenters propose high maximum health to support recovery, but no controlled threshold is established here. Do not treat “around 4,000 HP” from replies as a universal requirement or safety guarantee. [2]

If health still drains or your Pawn dies

  1. Confirm the names. Check both equipped rings and their descriptions. An Inversion setup is a different plan.
  2. Inspect additional effects. Record Battle Frenzy and other recovery dependencies before adding a second drain-related trade-off.
  3. Separate drain from incoming damage. If health collapses while the character is waiting or interrupted, relying on future hits is not a complete recovery plan.
  4. Watch the rest of the party. A Mage repeatedly healing a critical-health Pawn may spend less time providing the support you hired it for.
  5. Compare a simpler setup. On your own Pawn, remove one dependency and repeat a familiar encounter; for hired Pawns, compare another hire. Record falls, revivals and healing use, not just maximum health.

The Mage-priority warning has a separate written example: u/HoldMySoda's October 19 Battle Frenzy IV discussion reports repeated Archer-Pawn deaths and interrupted party support. Replies disagree about whether the damage benefit is worth the cost. That thread concerns Battle Frenzy loadouts; it does not prove that every Reversal/Benevolence combination fails. [3]

We have not personally tested these combinations. Keep ordinary recovery options available and do not use “immortal” as a promise about falls, scripted attacks or every version. The broader Pawn equipment diagnostic covers how to compare the party cost.

Getting the ring: what remains uncertain

The first thread's acquisition replies initially call the process crafting, then another participant describes materials accumulating into a random ring. They do not establish a reliable named material and guaranteed Reversal result. The Inversion discussion likewise describes random outcomes and contains conflicting enemy suggestions. This guide therefore cannot give a verified Reversal farming route, drop percentage or guaranteed number of kills. [1] [4]

If you already own the rings, use the checks above. If you are searching for a fixed vendor or guaranteed chest, the reviewed evidence does not establish one. Ring of Virtue and its upgrades are a separate item progression; do not spend resources on it expecting Reversal.
